Goodreads Summary:
In the magical underworld of Victorian London, Tessa Gray has at last found safety with the Shadowhunters. But that safety proves fleeting when rogue forces in the Clave plot to see her protector, Charlotte, replaced as head of the Institute. If Charlotte loses her position, Tessa will be out on the street--and easy prey for the mysterious Magister, who wants to use Tessa's powers for his own dark ends.

With the help of the handsome, self-destructive Will and the fiercely devoted Jem, Tessa discovers that the Magister's war on the Shadowhunters is deeply personal. He blames them for a long-ago tragedy that shattered his life. To unravel the secrets of the past, the trio journeys from mist-shrouded Yorkshire to a manor house that holds untold horrors, from the slums of London to an enchanted ballroom where Tessa discovers that the truth of her parentage is more sinister than she had imagined. When they encounter a clockwork demon bearing a warning for Will, they realize that the Magister himself knows their every move--and that one of their own has betrayed them.

Tessa finds her heart drawn more and more to Jem, though her longing for Will, despite his dark moods, continues to unsettle her. But something is changing in Will--the wall he has built around himself is crumbling. Could finding the Magister free Will from his secrets and give Tessa the answers about who she is and what she was born to do?

As their dangerous search for the Magister and the truth leads the friends into peril, Tessa learns that when love and lies are mixed, they can corrupt even the purest heart.

My Opinion:
I'm ever amazed by Cassandra's works. It keeps me wanting to read more! Clockwork Prince is a wonderful continuation of Clockwork Angel, the book which leads me to reading The Mortal Instruments series, making me fall in love with all her works.

So the search for the Magister continued in Clockwork Prince. Lots of things happened in the book. but he didn't appear at all, I think. We learn something about Will and why he behaved the way he did. Boy, when it was revealed I was kind of shocked. So that's why he was so bad towards people! Still, I love that attitude. I think I'm attracted to bad boys. I still think Will and Tessa are perfect for each other and kept hoping that they'll be together. There were good moments between them! Jem's another sweet darling.

Tessa and Sophie got to be trained in combat in this book. When I read that part, I immediately look forward to some exciting fighting scenes. And there's even a proposal but I will not say from who so it's up to you to guess or read it for yourself! Furthermore, I can't help to think that there's a link between Tessa and this older guy...

The ending left me hanging and wanting more. Why did it have to end on a good part? I shall be looking forward to reading Clockwork Princess in 2013.

Overall, Clockwork Prince is an exciting and wonderful read. If you have enjoyed Cassandra's other books, you'll definitely love this book!

Quotes:
  • "Reparations," said Jem very suddenly, setting down the pen he was holding.
Will looked at him in puzzlement. "Is this a game? We just blurt out whatever word that comes next to mind? In that case mine's 'genuphobia.' It means an unreasonable fear of knees."
"What's the word for a perfectly reasonable fear of annoying idiots?" inquired Jessamine.
  • Charlotte slammed the paper down onto her desk with an exclamation of rage. "Aloysius Starkweather is the most stubborn, hypocritical, obstinate, degenerate--" She broke off, clearly fighting for control of her temper. Tessa had never seen Charlotte's mouth so firmly set into a hard line.
"Would you like a thesaurus?" Will inquired.
  • "Well," Tessa said, sighting along the line of the knife, "you behave as if you dislike me. In fact, you behave as if you dislike us all."
"I don't," Gabriel said. "I just dislike him." He pointed at Will.
"Dear me," said Will, and he took another bite of his apple. "Is it because I'm better-looking than you?"
